My Favourite Book

Books are like people. In our life, we meet so many people but we don’t remember them all. In the same way, we read so many books. But all the books are not impressive to us. I also love reading books a lot. In view of the fact that it helps me to be a better version of myself. I don’t remember all the books that I read as I said before. But the book “Who Moved My Cheese” by Spencer Johnson was able to create a place for it in my heart. I learnt a lot from it. So, it is considered to be my favourite book. I read it in the year 2020 during the pandemic situation. It’s a small book about change. It has only 4 characters. In this book, the author represented “Change” very seductively. He made it clear that we, the people, always address change as a bad thing. We look at it negatively. It’s because we don’t want to go out of our comfort zone. But it’s not the truth all the time. Change has the ability to carry something positive sometimes as well. It created positivity inside me and positively changed my lifestyle. It made me realise that life doesn’t always go on the way we think it would go and that’s normal. Actually, that’s what makes our life beautiful. I was really amazed that how could Spencer Johnson define “Change” so charmingly in just 39 pages! The most amazing thing in the book was a psychological question that one of the characters used to ask himself when he was scared. The question was, “What would happen if I wasn’t scared?” I did research about it. When we ask ourselves this question, our brain starts to show us the positive side of anything and we willingly do the work. After learning about it, I tried it many times and it really works. It has boosted my confidence and made me the person that I always wanted to be. So it was really precious to me. I love it. I think we all should read books and have a favourite book, too. Because the world belongs to those who read.
